Wells Fargo commits $35 million in housing-related support to soldiers

Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) announced a $35 million commitment to soldiers this week that will come in the form of new hiring initiatives, the donation of real-estate owned properties and financial-education training.

The REO properties donated will be given to qualified nonprofits that serve members of the armed services.

In addition, funds will be set aside for various philanthropic endeavors for soldiers and sponsorships.

Customers of Wells Fargo also can make donations in support of military members and veterans by making donations through ATM machines in the period stretching from Nov. 14-30.

Donations will end up going to various organizations, including the USO, the National Military Family Association and Homes for our Troops.
