Loan mod, foreclosure complaints dominate CFPB consumer reports

Loan modifications, foreclosures and other servicing issues dominate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s list of complaints from U.S. mortgage holders, according to a database launched by the consumer bureau Thursday.

Out of the 90,000 complaints that consumers have made to the CFPB regarding financial firms, more than 50,000 relate solely to mortgage issues.

The database allows users to view the complaints by mortgage issue and product type. They can even organize issues by the name of the lender or servicer.

Users also are able to compose pie charts and bar graphs to evaluate the data in a visual format.
