Have you nominated a top real estate tech firm?

A few weeks back, we announced that HousingWire was launching the Real Estate Tech:50, a list of the top 50 firms in real estate technology. See the press announcement here.

It’s completely free to nominate a firm, and the deadline to submit a tech firm for consideration is this March 15.

We’ve been getting great response so far with more than 100 firms sending in nominations: the hard part for us will clearly be to narrow this list to 50 firms!

The 2013 HW RETech:50 will be selected by HW’s award-winning team of editors and writers, based on submissions received, and published this June to coincide with our big real estate industry shin-dig, REX 2013.

General criteria include: the role of the technology in the real estate business; impact the technology has had; potential for the technology to positively disrupt the real estate business; leadership team.

Impact is probably the most intriguing criteria here, as we’re most interested in highlighting the tech firms that have had an impact or those upstarts that are looking to positively disrupt the real estate business. Innovation can live anywhere, and we’re looking to find it in companies big and small in the real estate business.

By the way, just as important as what we do look at is what we do not: We don’t consider the number of years a firm has been in business; we don’t consider whether it is publicly-traded or not; we don’t consider revenues and/or profits.

So if you work in real estate tech and your firm hasn’t been nominated yet, now’s the time. Get those submissions in before March 15!
