The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau made key changes in its leadership ranks Tuesday.
The bureau, which officially launched last summer, said it made the key appointments to better leverage the expertise of internal staff members.
Steven Antonakes was named associate director for supervision, enforcement and fair lending at the CFPB. He is moving into the role after serving as assistant director of large bank supervision at the bureau.
Meredith Fuchs will now serve the bureau as general counsel after spending the past year as principal deputy general counsel and also chief of staff to director Richard Cordray. Gary Reeder, who has been serving as senior advisor to the deputy director will move into the position of acting chief of staff.
Meanwhile, Len Kennedy, who recently served as general counsel and CFPB association director, is moving into the position of senior advisor and counselor to CFPB director Richard Cordray.
Camille Busette, formerly a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, joined CFPB as assistant director of the office of financial education.
Clifford Rosenthal also joined the bureau as assistant director of financial empowerment. He is joining the agency after serving more than 30 years as president and CEO of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
Wendy Kamenshine is CFPB ombudsman. She started at the bureau in July 2011 as acting ombudsman, creating the CFPB’s ombudsman’s office.
