CrossCheck Compliance hired Monika McCarthy as managing director and general counsel to help expand the company’s presence nationally.

While the company is headquartered in Chicago, she will be based in Southern California.

“I am energized to be working with CrossCheck’s leadership team and using my in- house perspective to help clients develop effective solutions to regulatory and compliance challenges, while also meeting their business objectives," said McCarthy.

McCarthy joins the company from Stonegate Mortgage, bringing a background in all phases of mortgage lending, including origination, compliance, fair lending, regulatory affairs, litigation, secondary market transactions and claims resolution.

She has also worked at Cove Financial Group, Stearns Lending and New Century Mortgage Corporation.
