Bail for fugitive Southlake title company owner set at $1M

Returned to Fort Worth, Texas

Millennium Title owner Nancy Jackson Carroll was returned to Fort Worth, Texas, late Tuesday, following her arrest earlier in February in Illinois. She was accused of leaving town with millions of dollars in stolen money, an article in the Star-Telegram by Domingo Ramirez Jr. reported.

Carroll, 45, of Keller, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Tuesday, with bail set at $1 million, the article stated.

At the beginning of February, The Texas Department of Insurance seized Millennium Title after allegations surfaced that Carroll disappeared with millions of customers’ money.

The department ordered the company to close since it had less than $10,000 on hand to pay more than $100,000 in bills.

The article in the Star-Telegram added:

An initial hearing in Fort Worth for Carroll is pending.

The Keller lawyer and title company owner is charged with theft over $300,000.

In a separate lawsuit filed against Carroll Jan. 29, a plaintiff is seeking almost $797,000 in damages. The lawsuit alleges that Carroll maintained an escrow account for real estate closing purposes but took proceeds for her personal use.
