Alan Levith joins Edcomm BankerÕ Academy as chief compliance counsel

Former FDIC counsel will oversee regulatory compliance matters

Edcomm Group’s Banker’s Academy has added Alan Levith as its chief compliance counsel. In this new role, Levith will have a myriad of responsibilities, with a specific focus on “cradle to grave” regulatory compliance matters related to the financial services industry, including mortgage servicing, originations, and loss mitigation issues for banking and non-banking financial organizations.

His day-to-day responsibilities include providing oversight and certifying the content within Banker’s Academy’s Compliance and Regulatory catalogues and marketing materials, discussion groups, blogs and compliance information hotlines.

Levith has also been tasked with the development and oversight of a Compliance Consulting and Advisory division line. He will also serve as a subject matter expert in compliance related communications and for the sales division’s high value client outreach, serve as an adjunct professor at the new Edcomm Compliance Academy, and serve as a spokesperson for Edcomm and compliance-related conferences and similar events.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alan to our leadership team,” said Banker’s Academy CEO Qamar Zaman. “He brings a wealth of legal, business and industry expertise which will help continue to advance our leadership position in providing training solutions for the global financial services industry.”

Levith brings more than 30 years of legal experience to Banker’s Academy. During his career, his practice has focused on modeling complex secured and unsecured consumer transactions, drafting compliance policies and procedures within the marketplace, and developing financial industry operational risk management programs.

Prior to joining Banker’s Academy, Levith was national compliance counsel for LOGS Group. Earlier in his career, Levith served as senior litigation counsel for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

While with the FDIC, Levith provided legal counsel on the FDIC’s range of authority under the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act.

Levith is also a former commissioner on the Louisiana International Trade Commission, appointed to the post by Louisiana Gov. Mike Foster.
