President Barack Obama is hoping to include his climate change initiative into mortgage underwriting, according to National Mortgage News.

His overall plan is to reduce household energy consumption.

The White House wants the Federal Housing Administration to hold a round-table with lenders and “key stakeholders” in the housing industry to identify options for factoring energy efficiency into the mortgage underwriting and appraisal process.
