Nevada AG lays out fruits of the mortgage servicing deal

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez-Masto and U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan plan to sit down with officials and housing advocates in Nevada Thursday to discuss how the $25 billion mortgage servicing settlement can help distressed homeowners.

The mortgage servicing settlement, which settled legacy robo-signing and mortgage processing issues at big banks, will dispense $1.4 billion in benefits and aid for Nevada to use resolving mortgage related issues, Masto’s office said in a press statement.

AG Masto and Donovan will attend a roundtable discussion with housing advocates and local officials Thursday to discuss some of the ways in which the funds could aid distressed homeowners in the state.
