House passes bill to put Fannie, Freddie in budget

A Republican-backed bill approved by the House would put the costs of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on the federal budget, a move opposed by the Obama administration.

H.R. 3581 passed 245-180 Tuesday mostly along party lines, and seems unlikely to gain traction in the Democrat-led Senate.
