Florida governor signs off on use of foreclosure settlement funds

Florida Governor Rick Scott agreed to accept the state legislature’s plan for spending foreclosure settlement funds allocated to the state, The Tampa Tribune reported.

The agreement covers the state’s $200 million chunk of the $25 billion mortgage servicing settlement between the nation’s five largest servicers and states attorneys generals.

Scott approved a plan that will use Florida’s share of the funds to pay for housing programs and foreclosure prevention initiatives.
