EC Closing Corp. files for Ch. 11 bankruptcy

EC Closing Corp., a provider of foreclosure services to the mortgage industry, voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization this week.

The firm, which also goes by the name Cal-Western Reconveyance Corp., is a subsidiary of foreclosure services provider Prommis Holdings—a firm that has already filed for Ch. 11.

Court records show EC Closing Corp. following Prommis’ lead by voluntarily entering into a bankruptcy reorganization.

The company’s official Ch. 11 filing shows EC reporting $10 million to $50 million in assets and well over $50 million in liabilities.

Cal-Western Reconveyance (or EC), a trustee company, provides financial firms with non-judicial foreclosure services in several states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington state.
