Jerry Brown, the current governor of California, announced that Claudia Cappio will be the single leader for the Department of Housing and Community Development and CalHFA while the governor is implementing his reorganization plan for both agencies.

It is not clear if Cappio will remain once the reorganization is complete.

Cappio is currently the executive director of CalHFA. During the past 10 months, Linn Warren served as the director of HCD. However, Warren will be stepping down and returning to CalHFA.

This shift in leadership will create better coordination between the two main housing organizations in California and help come up with the best approaches, methods and actions to increase efficiency.
