A new initiative to prevent Michigan foreclosures has tapped into a higher power to help homeowners.

Wood-TV out of Grand Rapids points to the Michigan State Housing Development Authority Step Forward Michigan Faith Partnership campaign, which engages clergy, church-goers and spiritual leaders to help in the fight against foreclosure.

Step Forward Michigan has the potential to offer as much as $30,000 to pay a homeowners’ delinquent taxes, interest, fees and condo association dues.
