Since founding the company in 1995, Ryan has overseen strategic planning and the day-to-day operations for the company, including business and software development, interface partners, sales and pricing.

QuestSoft has seen amazing growth in the past few years. This year’s growth brings QuestSoft’s user base to 2,346 lenders across the country. This includes a 55% market share of HMDA submissions for lenders originating between 300 and 500,000 loans annually and rapidly expanding automated compliance services.

Ryan has been associated with the mortgage industry for more than 30 years, including co-owning a mortgage company, developing loan origination software and since 1995, becoming a major compliance software leader.

Prior to founding QuestSoft, Ryan was senior vice president of MixStar, Inc., where he helped design and launch a lender/broker communication network. Before working with MixStar, Ryan was senior vice president of RAM Computer Associates in Irvine, Calif. In this position, he helped redesign and significantly improve PowerPak Mortgage Software, building the company from 50 clients to more than 850 in a short three-year period.

During that time, Ryan designed and worked in tandem with industry trade groups to implement a standardized loan submission form for investors, a form that remains largely the same more than 25 years later.

Additionally, Ryan has been an in-demand public speakers on regulatory issues, having been a presenter or a panelist from late 2015 through 2016 for over 25 events.

These include multiple Mortgage Bankers Association HMDA essential training events, the MBA Legal Issues Conference, the ABA Real Estate Lending Conference, and state events in Utah, Colorado, Alabama and Texas.

Ryan also spoke at Calyx Ascend 16, four regional events for Calyx in 2015 specializing in TRID in conjunction with the CFPB, and served as an expert speaker on compliance issues for the Ellie Mae Experience conference and the FICS conference.

In mid-2016, he also presented the tech side while Kathleen “Kitty” Ryan, former Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Regulations at the CFPB and now with BuckleySandler, presented the regulator view. That specific webinar has been access and viewed by over 2,500 lenders to date.

In addition to personal recognition, his company, QuestSoft, has received more than 20 awards since 2012, including the top award for a vendor, the Lenders’ Choice award, voted on by thousands of lenders nationwide.

Additionally, QuestSoft received recognition from HousingWire’s HW TECH100 listing for the third year in a row.

Under Ryan’s leadership, QuestSoft was named a Top Workplace by The Orange County Register in both 2013 and 2014 out of over 10,000 applicants.
