California real estate agent busted with 250 pounds of marijuana

Heidi Hampton arrested in Arkansas for transporting $400,000 in pot

A California real estate agent is under arrest in Arkansas after state police found more than 250 pounds of “high grade” marijuana hidden in a trailer attached to the truck she was driving last week.

According to reports from KRCRTV.com and RiverValleyLeader.com, Heidi Hampton, of Redding, California, was pulled over in Pope County, Arkansas after state troopers observed her driving recklessly.

When the Arkansas state troopers began questioning Hampton about her driving, the trooper observed that she seemed “very nervous.”

A police dog then alerted the troopers that the odor of drugs was detected.

After receiving Hampton’s consent, the troopers searched the 1995 Dodge Ram she was driving, as well as the trailer attached to back of the truck.

When searching the trailer, the troopers found a sizable false compartment in the floor of the trailer.

When they opened the compartment, they found 253 pounds of “high grade” marijuana, which has a street value of more than $400,000.

Hampton was arrested and later charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

According to the KRCR TV report, Hampton was a real estate agent working for Real Living Real Estate in California.

Hampton’s page on the RealLiving.com website appears deleted, with the page now showing a “404” error, but a Google cache version of the site shows Hampton listed as an agent.

According to the River Valley Leader report, Hampton is scheduled to appear in a plea arraignment hearing on March 14.
