New Residential Investment (NRZ) will purchase the interests in a $900 million pool of non-Agency residential mortgage loans previously securitized by an affiliate of Springleaf Financial Corporation.

New Residential expects to settle the acquisition by the end of the first quarter of 2014.

New Residential is a real estate investment trust spin off from Newcastle Investment (NCT).

The company is active in purchasing mortgage servicing rights, and residential mortgage-backed securities.

NRZ previously picked up an MSR portfolio with an unpaid principal balance of approximately $23 billion, as well as another $43 billion deal, composed of agency residential mortgage loans, from Nationstar (NSM).
