Strategic defaulters are out of luck in Ireland

The luck of strategic defaulters is about to run out in Ireland.

As Bloomberg reports, the nation’s government has made the home repossession process much easier, prompting banks to push harder on borrowers who have the ability to pay their mortgages, but refuse to do so.

Irish homeowners in default who can still afford their monthly payments represent 20% of the home loans in arrears at Allied Irish Banks alone, Bloomberg reported.
