Jobless claims inch up

Unemployment claims edge up by 5,000 filings

Although jobless claims edged up for the week ending August 3, the increase is comparable to pre-recession levels, Reuters said. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased by 5,000 filings last week to 333,000, the article reported.
