Housing Wire is published by HW Publishing LLC, a start-up media and communications company headed up by 32-year old Paul Jackson, a mortgage industry insider with years of experience working with and for various companies in mortgage finance.
Jackson is the former associate publisher and executive editor at DS News magazine and DSNews.com, an online and print-based trade publication focused exclusively on default management; he helped establish the publication’s online news Web site, after successfully leading its transformation from a prior title where the title was known as REO Magazine.
Most recently, Jackson led global social media strategy and online community-based marketing efforts for a member of the Fortune 100 in the travel industry.
Mortgage banking is the family’s business: Paul’s family runs a national law firm that has spent well over 20 years representing creditor’s interests. Summers spent helping out at the firm, as well as a two-year stint as marketing director, helped him establish a front-line understanding of the mortgage industry that few journalists are ever able to attain.
Paul earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California, as well as an MBA from UC Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business; he has also pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, where his research focused on advanced quantitative methods and consumer psychology.
