The ignonimous end to Marc Dann’s political career

We must have missed the drama, but (now former) Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann apparently resigned week after admitting he’d gotten a tad too frisky with a female subordinate. If you missed his initial explanations of the affair, they were stuff of legend; sort of the “I went to sleep and she was there, yadda yadda yadda, and woke up and she was there” variety.

Dann, HW readers may recall, was the overly-aggressive AG that sued Freddie Mac in January for being party to “one of the largest housing investment deceptions in modern U.S. economic times.” He also threatened to do the same to Fannie Mae, and even attempted to intervene in a private dispute involving foreclosure cases.

He apparently spent his first day at home helping his wife:

Former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann spent his first day after resigning helping his wife with her business selling dishes online.

Dann’s attorney Mike Harshman says Dann helped his wife, Alyssa Lenhoff Dann, with her side job selling Fiestaware on the Internet.

Dann walked two miles from his suburban Youngstown home Thursday to the office where he took orders and packed dishes.

Kevin Funnell over at the Bank Lawyer’s Blog summarizes thusly:

He “took orders” from his wife, too, I imagine. Since he’s admitted to boffing his scheduler, I’ll bet the better half will have him packing a lot of Fiestaware to work off his karmic debt. Walking four miles a day also might help Dann work off that baby fat.

Quite a change from rattling sabres with economic giants, we’ll surmise.
