Stewart Subsidiary Moves to Offer Electronic Title Searches

PropertyInfo Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp., said Thursday that it has acquired a proprietary title search application, Advanced Title Search (ATS), from CST Title Abstractors, LLC.

The application provides managed title searches from a broad variety of data sources, both public and private.

According to a statement released today, ATS will offer title agents a Web-based automated search tool via PropertyInfo that:

• creates a consolidated property Title Search Report (TSR) from various public and private databases
• applies rules-based search analysis technology
• delivers an electronic title search package to the title professional

In addition, PropertyInfo said the title package delievered by ATS includes a data file readily exchangeable with existing title order management systems, such as AIM (a product of Stewart Title) or SoftPro (a product of SoftPro, part of the Fidelity National Financial family) to reduce keying errors and save key strokes.

The acquisition was completed in early January. The product is already being deployed in a number of counties, and will be offered via the PropertyInfo.com real estate information portal at http://www.propertyinfo.com.
